Your Technical Connection: Cable / FTTH
TriQuint’s cable TV and fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) TriAccess™ product portfolio includes a wide range of devices that enable ‘triple-play’ (voice-video-data) services. Our highly linear ‘green’ amplifiers are very efficient (up to 50% PAE) while reducing PCB as much as 50%. TriQuint’s power and filter products support headend, CATV infrastructure, subscriber and FTTH / RFoG (RF over Glass) applications.
TriQuint’s newest solutions include the TAT8858, a ‘green’ infrastructure product that operates at either 12V or 24V. TriQuint’s the new TAT2814A supports FTTH and RFoG systems with a wide 4dB performance margin. The TAT6254B is an ultra-low noise amplifier for FTTH, RFoG and other QAM-dominated applications. TriQuint’s TAT7457 is a highly-flexible CATV amplifier with adjustable gain for RFoG and emerging home/premises network requirements.

Subscriber Amplification
![]() |
![]() |
Amplification at the subscriber premises has become increasingly segmented, highly dependent on the mix of services and the number of devices supported for a given home or business. To address these new demands, the TriAccess™ product line offers a complete selection of products ideally suited for premises amplification requirements. From simple single port, video-only amplification to full multiport, multi-service requirements, we provide the RFIC and RF switch products designers need.
TriQuint amplifiers offer a range of gain levels to meet the need for comparable output levels regardless of drop amplifier ports. The TAT7461 provides 16 dB of gain for traditional applications, while the TAT7430 provides 22 dB of gain for higher port count amplifiers.

The TriQuint Drop Amplifier IC Advantage
TriQuint’s TriAccess amplifiers are fabricated using GaAs pHEMT technology / high Gm processes with optimized gate lengths. This provides excellent stability, return loss and overall performance.

TAT7430B
The TAT7430B is a 22 dB gain product that provides the gain required for output of higher port count drop amplifiers.
TAT7461
The TAT7461 provides unprecedented stability and return loss performance over temperature while meeting stringent SCTE and major MSO distortion requirements. This product also delivers excellent noise level performance.
TAT7457
TriQuint’s new TriAccess TAT7457 is a breakthrough RFoG optical receiver amplifier. The TAT7457 performs with less than half the equivalent input noise (EIN) of existing market solutions. This enables network operators to significantly extend their system link budgets or realize other economies such as a smaller bill of materials.

Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) and Fiber to the Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) Applications
FTTH networks increasingly offer a variety of analog and digital video service options for residential and business locations. Meeting RF requirements at the Optical Network Unit in a cost-sensitive marketplace is more challenging than ever. To help designers meet these challenges, TriQuint and TriAccess™ have developed a family of RFICs that cost-effectively meet the difficult gain, noise and distortion requirements of passive optical network (PON) systems.
Excellent gain and noise characteristics are at the center of all TriAccess™ products from TriQuint. Today’s GPON access architectures strive to maximize optical dynamic range and RF output power, which together place difficult requirements on ONT receiver gain. In addition, new multimedia distribution approaches such as MoCa (Multimedia over Coax) require higher levels of RF output to cover an increasing number of terminal devices. TriQuint’s device family is carefully designed to provide excellent gain, noise and distortion characteristics over the full optical input range. These products provide ONT engineers the critical tools they need to meet demanding design requirements.
