Gallium Nitride (GaN) Expertise:

With extensive GaN R&D efforts since 1999, TriQuint has led multi-year, multi-million-dollar programs funded by DARPA and other agencies in developing advanced GaN-based amplifiers and manufacturing techniques. Now in Phase III of the Wide Bandgap Semiconductor (WBGS) RF program, TriQuint leads a ‘NEXT’ Gallium Nitride DARPA-funded research program that focuses on creating radically-new, complex GaN circuits. TriQuint was also chosen by the US Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) to advance Gallium Nitride manufacturing techniques as part of a Defense Production Act Title III program. TriQuint’s 0.25µm GaN on SiC high-power / high-frequency process is ideal for wideband and narrowband communications, radar and related applications (DC-20GHz). GaN foundry service, coupled with TriQuint’s 3MI passives, offer a full MMIC solution. TriQuint custom design services can utilize our GaN on SiC process or any other from the industry’s widest in-house technology portfolio for comprehensive GaN & GaAs solutions.

Packaging, Integrated Assembly and Die on Tab (DOT) In-House Capabilities:

TriQuint offers a wide variety of packaging, integrated assembly and die-level services that can make developing your product easier and more efficient. These services include Die on Tab (DoT), single-chip and multi-chip packaging options. TriQuint's DoT process can place any die-level device on a thermal spreader.
