TRIQUINT CHAIRMAN STEVE SHARP TO LEAD OREGON AeA

Nation’s largest technology trade association represents high-tech industry, mentors thousands of member companies

HILLSBORO, OR (USA) – October 1, 2007 – TriQuint Semiconductor (Nasdaq: TQNT), a leading manufacturer of wireless products, announced today that its Chairman of the Board, Steve Sharp, will take over as Chairperson of the Oregon Council of AeA (formerly American Electronics Association) for a two-year term beginning this month. Sharp has served as vice-chair of the Oregon Council since 2005. He succeeds current council chair Robert DeKoning, CEO of Routeware in Beaverton.

AeA is the nation’s largest technology trade association with 2,500 member companies representing all segments of the high-tech industry. The association has 18 state councils in the leading high-tech states, including Oregon. As council chair, Sharp will also serve on the national board of AeA. The association sponsors a broad range of professional development events for executives, managers, and boards of directors. In Oregon, AeA also advocates for the industry at the State Legislature on such issues as higher education, taxation, and business regulations.

Sharp joined TriQuint in 1991 as Director, President, and CEO. He became Chairman in 1992 and stepped down as President and CEO in 2002 to semi-retire. Sharp helped build the foundation for growth in cellular phones and other markets. TriQuint is a major supplier supporting the top handset vendors, next generation broadband networks and the nation’s military. TriQuint has earned the place as #3 GaAs device vendor in the world and is recognized as a wireless technology leader. Current TriQuint CEO Ralph Quinsey said “We are proud of Steve’s leadership in the AeA, and look forward to his leadership in developing the high-tech industry at the state and national level.”

In addition to Sharp’s role at TriQuint and new appointment to the AeA, he cultivates businesses, pursues non-profit objectives, and mentors others. He also serves as a board member of Oregon semiconductor startup Ambric Inc. and is Chairman of the Board of Power Integrations Inc. based in San Jose, California. He has been associated as a founder or startup director with six successful semiconductor companies. Earlier in his career he worked at Phillips Semiconductor and Texas Instruments.

Locally, Sharp also serves as a member of Oregon Health Policy Commission and a director of the OHSU Neuropsychiatric Institute where he raises money for research on ADD/ADHD.

The Executive Committee of the AeA Oregon Council also approved three new members who will begin their terms in October:

  • Scott Grout, president and CEO of RadiSys Corporation.
  • William W. Lattin, who is active on a number of local boards including FEI, RadiSys, and Merix.
  • Ron Sherman, senior relationship manager at Silicon Valley Bank.
