New RF Chipset Features Key Components for VSATs
September 10, 2012
TriQuint's new Ka-band (28 to 31 GHz) GaAs MMIC RF chipset for very small aperture terminals (VSATs) combines packaged assembly convenience with highly linear performance and cost-effective innovation. The TGA4541-SM driver amplifier offers 30dB gain adjustment. The chipset includes the TGA4539-SM 1W power amplifier, the TGC4407-SM subharmonic upconverter with integrated local oscillator (LO) buffer amplifier, and the TGC4408-SM block downconverter with dual-band switchable VCOs and subharmonic mixer. The devices integrate key functionality and are designed to support the growing Ka-band market, which offers wider bandwidth and two-way data advantages compared to other frequency bands now utilized by satellite service providers.
