‘Green’ TriPower™ Delivers Record Efficiency: TriQuint’s new TriPower family of RF high-power transistors has dramatically improved 3G/4G wireless base station efficiency for reduced electricity costs and a smaller carbon footprint. TriPower devices, when used in a typical Doherty design, deliver a record 55% efficiency; other technologies’ efficiency approaches 42%. TriPower addresses the two primary challenges facing network operators: a need to expand capacity due to the explosive growth of smartphones and similar devices, plus the need to lower electrical costs. “TriPower delivers record efficiency for real cost savings while providing the capacity increase that 3G and 4G systems require,” said Brian P. Balut, TriQuint Vice President. Contact Product Marketing or visit TriPower for details.
