TriQuint's cable TV (CATV) and Fiber to the Home (FTTH) TriAccess™ product portfolio includes a wide range of devices that enable 75 ohm "triple-play" (voice, video and data) services. Our highly linear "green" amplifiers are very efficient while reducing board space as much as 50%.
TriQuint's power and filter products enable all major cable applications including headend, CATV infrastructure, subscriber and FTTH / RFoG (RF over Glass). Our devices support critical performance standards such as DOCSIS® 3.0 for Edge QAM, CMTS and EOC design approaches. TriQuint's FTTH / RFoG portfolio delivers integrated solutions that cost effectively meet the stringent gain, noise and distortion requirements of passive optical network (PON) systems.
Don't miss our rich library of technical resources.
A number of broadband services have been enabled with the effective use of high-throughput DOCSIS 3.0 systems. The rollout of the DOCSIS standard and remote PHY deployments have greatly increased service capacity, which also increases demand for higher-density small footprints, low power consumption and greater spectrum both down and upstream.
TriQuint's TriAccess™ product line includes RFIC products specifically designed to meet the stringent RF requirements of DOCSIS-based Edge QAM systems. TriAccess solutions reduce power consumption up to 50% while cutting space requirements up to 80%. The following TriQuint products provide a complete set of options for low power consumption Edge QAM operation:
Energy savings offered by these products enable closer component spacing and smaller heat-sink areas, for a smaller footprint and overall reduced thermal management needs.
See the Products and Block Diagrams tabs on this page for more information on products for Edge QAM / DOCSIS 3.0.
Amplification at the subscriber premises has become increasingly segmented and highly dependent on the mix of services and the number of devices supported for a given home or business. To address these new demands, the TriAccess™ product line offers a complete selection of products that are ideally suited for premises amplification requirements. From simple single-port, video-only amplification to full multi-port, multi-service requirements, TriQuint provides the RFIC amplifier products that designers need.
TriQuint amplifiers offer a range of gain levels to meet the need for standard output levels regardless of drop amplifier ports:
TriQuint’s TriAccess amplifiers are fabricated using GaAs pHEMT technology / high Gm processes with optimized gate lengths. This technology provides excellent stability, return loss and overall performance.
At 18 dB, the TAT7427B-T1 provides slightly higher gain than the traditional 16 dB drop amplifier to overcome filters and other devices.
The TAT7430B-T1 is a 22 dB gain product that provides the gain required for output of higher port count drop amplifiers.
The TAT7461 provides unprecedented stability and return loss performance over temperature while meeting stringent SCTE and major MSO distortion requirements. This product also delivers excellent noise level performance.
TriQuint's TriAccess TAT7457 is a high-performing simplified design using an off-chip feedback resistor to enable a range of gain configuration.
FTTH networks increasingly offer a variety of analog and digital video service options for residential and business locations. Meeting RF requirements at the optical network unit (ONU) in a cost-sensitive marketplace is more challenging than ever. To help designers meet these challenges, TriQuint and TriAccess™ have developed a family of RFICs that cost effectively meet the difficult gain, noise and distortion requirements of passive optical network (PON) systems.
Excellent gain and noise characteristics are at the center of all TriAccess™ products from TriQuint. Today’s PON access architectures with RF overlay strive to maximize optical dynamic range and RF output power, which together place difficult requirements on optical network terminal (ONT) receiver gain. In addition, new multimedia distribution approaches such as MoCa (Multimedia over Coax Alliance) require higher levels of RF output to cover an increasing number of terminal devices. TriQuint's device family is carefully designed to provide excellent gain, noise and distortion characteristics over the full optical input range. These products provide ONT engineers the critical tools they need to meet demanding design requirements.
The TAT6254C and TAT6254D are ideal for use throughout the industry in GPON and other RF overlay solutions, excelling in both noise performance and dynamic range. Both devices provide a wide dynamic range using a high-performing combination of differential transimpedance amplifiers and multiple stage integration. The TAT6254C pinouts provide the flexibility to cost-optimize for a variety of applications including GPON while the TAT6254D is ideally suited for multi-stage RFoG designs.
TriQuint's TriAccess TAT6254B is a breakthrough RFoG / FTTH optical receiver amplifier. The TAT6254B performs with less than half the equivalent input noise (EIN) of existing market solutions, enabling network operators to significantly extend their system link budgets or realize other economies such as a smaller bill of materials. The TAT6254B is functionally and pin-compatible with the TAT6254C, although it has significantly increased gain and lower noise for all or near-all QAM deployments.
TriQuint's TriAccess CATV infrastructure amplifier products are optimized for cable-specific performance and address the key challenges that cable system operators must confront, including service complexities, the need for higher data rates, voice service provisions and increased HDTV demands. Solutions to economically satisfy these requirements can be found in new generations of line amplifiers that offer better network efficiency. TriQuint's TAT8857, TAT8804D1H, TAT8801A1H and TAT2801 (integrated power doubler) and TAT8858 (integrated push-pull amplifier) are ideal for CATV infrastructure applications, providing the economy of GaAs-based design and superior efficiency performance. For high-output applications, the GaN-based TAT9988 power doubler offers outstanding RF output power.
See the Products and Block Diagrams tabs on this page for more information on amplifiers for cable infrastructure.
TriQuint's TriAccess™ line includes single-ended, dual and differential amplifiers for a wide range of 75 ohm applications. These devices offer the versatility and economy needed to support triple-play requirements, system upgrades and greenfield deployments. Each product is developed with underlying process technology that maximizes cost-effective performance and enables cable operators to extend their reach or enhance performance without significant system overhauls.
